Producer Daryl Brooks cast Shaneen Allen to play “Imani”, the wife of FBI Agent “Jim Jamison” in the upcoming political thriller Enhanced Interrogation.
Director Terry R. Wickham speaks about her, “I did a read through with Shaneen and Raina Williamson, who is playing her daughter in the movie and they were very believable together. I also think Shaneen has a spark that is shining right now.
I also think she understands the tremendous opportunity this gives her to make her acting debut and is motivated to do everything she can to make it a success.
The most important thing I feel Shaneen can bring to the movie is the grounded reality of being a mother (which she is in real life). Also it’s key she comes across in her relationship with her husband that they have history and feels legitimate.
I also really appreciate that Shaneen is willing to help us raise funds to make our movie, which you can help her by going to our Go Fund Page.”
Shaneen Allen is an African American single mother of two who obtained a Pennsylvania Concealed Carry permit after being the victim of two robberies in Philadelphia. Shaneen while working several jobs to support her young family, took a break to bring her children on a trip to New Jersey for a birthday party. Shortly after crossing into New Jersey, she was pulled over for a minor traffic violation. Upon request for identification from the police officer, she voluntarily disclosed that she was carrying a firearm and that she had a license to carry concealed.
Unlike her driver’s license, her permit-to-carry was not recognized by the neighboring state. Shaneen was shackled, arrested and hauled off to jail. She lost her job and was unable to support her family.
With the help of many great Americans in the Second Amendment community and with an eventual pardon from Governor Chris Christie, Shaneen is now moving forward with her life. Her goal is to empower women and minorities to be independent, self-sufficient and to have access to the resources to protect their children.
